12-10-07 — Baker’s Creek to Open New Flooring Plant
JACKSON, Miss.---Baker’s Creek, a company created to provide premium-quality engineered wood flooring for higher-end markets, has announced the opening of its new flooring plant in Edwards, Miss. The plant, set to begin production in the first quarter of 2008, was created to produce wood flooring that is both beautiful and full of charm.
Baker’s Creek was founded with a belief in character—that of people and wood. That character is illustrated in the magnificent grains, divergent textures, and rich tones found in the product.
The company was founded by B. Shannon Fuller, a flooring industry regular, and Richard M. Lingle, a successful Southern attorney. Prior to Baker’s Creek, the two led a turnaround of Capella Wood Floors, which set the pace for the development of three-fourths-inch engineered hardwood flooring in the United States.
When Capella was purchased by Armstrong in 2006, the two still felt a strong connection with wood flooring and had a strong passion to continue producing great flooring companies.
