Baker’s Creek was founded with a belief in character – the natural character of premium wood and of hardworking people. Every plank of Baker’s Creek flooring has a dynamic personality of its own, illustrated by magnificent grains, distinct textures, and rich tones.

That should be expected when you choose only the finest woods available. But we like to think the demeanor of our staff adds a little extra charm. We’re a small, close-knit company. When we work, we work hard. When we play, we play even harder.

This culture was born directly from our founders – Richard M. Lingle and B. Shannon Fuller. Richard is a lawyer and passionate entrepreneur. Shannon’s a wood flooring engineer and tireless inventor. Together, they are pioneers and innovators.

They purchased the failing Capella Engineered Wood division from Anderson-Tully in 2004. By 2006, they had completely turned the company around – to the tune of over $23 million in sales. Their ¾-inch engineered flooring became the buzz of the industry. Homeowners embraced the ¾-inch engineered concept, and the Chinese copied it. Their hard work, innovation, and business style ultimately led to the sale of Capella to Armstrong in 2006.

But such is their nature; they couldn’t just bask in past success. So they soon began concocting bigger plans and better techniques. And seemingly before they knew it, they had assembled a production line in Edwards, Mississippi.

Welcome to Baker’s Creek.
